The AYANEO Air 1s, and the AM01, will both get an update packing much more power.
AYANEO are keeping busy — the company hasn't only announced several new products today (here, here and here), but they've also decided to update two of their more popular devices: namely, the AYANEO Air 1s and the AYANEO AM01.
The AYANEO AM01S
The AYANEO AM01 (my original review) will now be available in an updated version called AM01S. It will still feature a Macintosh-inspired design but with a proper adjustable screen.
It also packs much more oomph, as the AM01s will feature either an AMD 8845HS or an AMD 8945HS. Both versions will also be equipped with a robust dual-fan cooling system with 65W, dual USB4 ports, two 2.5G Ethernet ports, dual SSDs (I'm not quite sure what this means), several USB-A ports, and more (AYANEO has not yet announced what more is, only that there will be more.
There is, however, no release date nor a price announcement.
AYANEO Air 1s now with an 8840U
I reviewed the AYANEO Air 1s last year, writing that the handheld was then "my go-to emulation and indie machine. [...] It's my most used gaming device right now, permanently lives in a Switch case in my backpack, and I have nearly 50 hours in Binding of Isaac alone on this device."
Now, AYANEO is bringing an updated version to the market, replacing the AMD 7840U with the new AMD 8840U.
It will still feature the same small design, the same OLED screen, and the same button layout as its predecessor, and will come in three colour options: aurora white, polar black, and a limited AYANEO x Eiyuden Chronicle Edition, of which only 30 units will exist, and that will be given away through lottery draws on AYANEO's official social media platforms.
As with the AM01s, AYANEO has neither announced a price nor a release date for the updated Air 1S.
