Here are the full specs for AYANEO's upcoming dual-screen portable powerhouse.

We knew this was coming, but now it's official: ever-busy hardware maker AYANEO has shared all on its latest take on a dual-screen handheld, dubbed the FLIP 1S DS.

ℹ️
We've got the full FLIP 1s DS specs below, but there's no word on price or a launch date just yet.

This new Windows-powered device builds on what AYANEO did with their original line of clamshell handhelds, adding several notable hardware improvements, including a much welcomed OLED screen, a new AMD chipset, and more — it also seems to have a baffling amount of buttons.

The main screen on the FLIP 1s DS is a 7-inch 1080p OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, whereas the smaller 4.5-inch secondary display is an IPS touchscreen with a 1620×1080 resolution. AYANEO shared that this second screen will function as a native Windows extended display — which means that in addition to being useful for split-screen gaming, it should also handle multitasking with ease.

Inside, the new FLIP 1S DS will be powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip (what a mouthful that is). The addition of this high-end chip should mean that this new portable can handle triple-A releases without breaking a sweat.

The upcoming portable also includes an upgraded 'dual heat dissipation' cooling system, with both a vapor chamber and active air cooling to help maintain performance under load.

It rocking such a kick-ass chip and serious cooling all sounds like a big positive, and are undoubtedly the hallmarks of a flagship handheld, but it also just kinda feels like overkill for something that will likely be used for emulating DS games on. 😅 Just me?

Anyway, other improvements here include a rather lovely looking metal chassis, an improved, adjustable hinge, TMR electromagnetic joysticks — the first Windows handheld to feature them apparently — and dual USB4 ports for fast charging and data transfer.

In addition to Windows, the device also runs AYANEO’s own AYASpace software. Version 3.0 introduces various new UI elements and a console-style system pause function.

All told, this looks like a solid upgrade on AYANEO's original dual-screen FLIP.
