New Steam Deck client beta update released, fixes input

Valve released a new update for the beta and preview channels of the Steam Deck. It fixes different input settings and adds a few quality-of-life enhancements.

General
Fixed scrolling on home recommended screen due to discovery queue
Fixed issue where What's New section was not populated properly
Steam Input
Replaced the Big Picture configurator in desktop mode with a windowed view of the new Configurator. This currently only applies to desktop mode on Steam Deck.
Improve styling of command names
Fix bug w/ renaming "Move By Amount" mouse bindings
Fix action set layers not carrying through Gamepad triggers outputs from button bindings

Especially the first two are welcome changes, as I ran into these problems a few times.

If you want to install the beta, you have to do the following:

  1. Press the Steam button and scroll down to the Settings window.
  2. Go to System, then Steam Update Channel
  3. Choose what channel you want to join. You have the choice between Stable, Beta and Preview. As per Valve's description:
Stable: Recommended experience for most users. This option will install the latest stable Steam Client and SteamOS.
Beta: Testing for new Steam features. Updates frequently. This option will install Steam Client Beta and the latest stable SteamOS.
Preview: Testing for new Steam and system-level features. Updates frequently. You may encounter issues. This option will install Steam Client Beta and the SteamOS Beta.
