This new Android-powered gaming portable looks very similar to the old AYANEO 2S.
Habitual handheld maker AYANEO today introduced a new portable, the AYANEO Pocket EVO — claiming it to be the world's first to bring a 7-inch, 120HZ OLED screen to a dedicated Android gaming device.
For those of you who keenly follow the output of the plucky Shenzhen-based hardware maker, you'd be forgiven for thinking this was the AYANEO 2S from back in early 2023. Well, it's not — but it is purposely leaning on the design heritage of that prior device. AYANEO explained that the design of this new Pocket EVO Android flagship is "deeply rooted in the AYANEO brand DNA", borrowing the design language of their older, award-winning 'classic' handheld. A more cynical take would be that reusing a design like this is one way to go about saving some R&D costs...
This upcoming device was revealed during a live online event in which the future handheld was demoed, highlighting its slimmer profile, ergonomics, screen technology, and gameplay power.
"The AYANEO Pocket EVO embodies a complete evolution in flagship Android handhelds, delivering an unparalleled experience in performance, aesthetics, display, and control thanks to its innovative design and exceptional capabilities."
