🔗 Microsoft's Xbox handheld could be with us before the end of the year

Report suggests an Xbox-branded handheld gaming PC will arrive by late 2025.

A new wide-ranging report from Windows Central claims that Microsoft is currently working directly with a PC gaming OEM — (possibly ASUS, Lenovo, MSI, or Razer) on an Xbox-branded handheld gaming PC. This new device is said to be targeting a late 2025 release if all goes to plan.

We've been talking about a potential Xbox flavoured handheld for a good while now, with Xbox execs even talking up the possibility. This new report, from the reliable Jez Corden, goes on to explain how this portable device will be just a part of a wider multi-device approach for Xbox.

"Microsoft's internal successor to the Xbox Series X|S platform has been fully greenlit all the way up to CEO Satya Nadella. [..] Microsoft's next-gen hardware plans include a premium successor to the powerful Xbox Series X, alongside its own Xbox gaming handheld".

So, a handheld soon(ish), and the next Xbox home console for 2027. Thoughts?

Xbox’s hardware fightback begins with a gaming handheld planned for later this year, with full next-gen consoles targeting 2027
Microsoft’s first full foray into PC gaming handhelds begins with a partner device set to launch later this year, with its own Xbox Series X|S successors now fully in production.
