Valve has released a new major version of Proton, the compatibility layer created by them and Codeweavers to make Windows games run on Linux and SteamOS.
Version eight comes with a plethora of fixes for dozens of games like Forspoken, the Dead Space remake, and Disney Dreamlight Valley, either enhancing the compatibility with the Steam Deck or making them run in the first place.

Proton 8.0-1 should install automatically on your Steam Deck — but if it doesn‘t show up, you can search for it in the Steam Store on your Steam Deck by looking for "Proton 8.0".
