The image of the new dock comes via a trusted source of Laura Kate Dale.
Laura Kate Dale has shared a fresh image of what appears to be the rear of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
The new image, shared over on Bluesky, shows the backside of the alleged dock, complete with visible input and output voltage information printed onto the hardware.
This image comes via a "trusted source" of Dale's.
Dale was somewhat prolific during the NX era, and shared several tidbits of accurate information about the then new Switch ahead of its reveal, including solid details of the split Joy-Con controllers. As such, based on her track record, we should have confidence putting faith in this leak.
This new dock, complete with curved edges and a matte black finish, has some information obscured in the shared image, but we can tell that the input voltage for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be 20 volts, with the output listed as 15 volts.
Dale also notes in her post that the Nintendo Switch 2 will ship with a 60w charging cable for use with the dock, a significant increase from the charger supplied with the original Switch.
As a result of this power difference, Dale notes in a follow-up post that the charger for the current generation Nintendo Switch will not be suitable for powering the Switch 2 when it is docked.
This new leak is the latest in an increasingly long line of Switch 2 details that have come to light ahead of an official reveal. Laura Kate Dale recently shared a video running through what we know so far about Nintendo's upcoming hybrid sequel — it's well worth a watch if you want to get up to speed.
Nintendo have publicly said they will share information on their next console by the end of March 2025 — however many expect the new console to be shown off well before then. Either way, not long now.
