A new, big update for Cyberpunk 2077 is planned for December 5th, bringing a fully functional metro system, new romance options, new vehicles and more.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been on the rise since the launch of Phantom Liberty and the big 2.0 update (read our review here). It's been getting better ever since launch, but it's safe to say it feels like a brand-new game and is now living up to the fans' expectations.
Well, good news, because the free 2.1 update – slated for December 5 – will turn things up even more with many cool new features:
With update 2.1, players can expect several exciting additions to the experience that Night City already offers them. Among these is a city-wide, fully functional metro system that allows players to easily travel around the megalopolis and enjoy the best views along the way.
Radioport, another new feature, allows players to optionally enjoy the high-quality music selection of Cyberpunk 2077's radio stations outside their vehicles.
New romantic encounters with partners are also possible, as players can invite their partners in-game to spend time together in V's Apartment after Update 2.1.
There will also be a brand-new Porsche, some new motorcycles and new mechanics to make them easier to handle, some replayable races and more driving-focussed bits. Even some of the boss battles have been improved, with Adam Smasher now wielding a Sandevistan, as seen in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
It's a big update and an excellent chance to either return to the game or check it out if you've not done so yet.
Because we want to make sure we're keeping you all up to date as well, we will try out as much of the new content as possible and then update our Cyberpunk 2077 review.
Are we just using it as an excuse to play more of the game? Maybe, who can say? The important thing is it's definitely for the greater good.
The Cyberpunk 2077 2.1 update will drop for free for existing users on December 5th on Steam.
It will also be part of the Ultimate Edition releasing on the same day.
