Mineko's Night Market, Cocoon, and Pizza Possum are just some of the games arriving on the Nintendo eShop this week.
🛍 Monday, September 25 — Sunday, September 30
Last week saw the rather ropey Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 arrive, along with 40 other games, but this week is even busier, with close to 50 titles arriving on the Nintendo eShop.
As ever, I've gone through all of the upcoming games, with the full list below sharing what you need to know about each, along with a link out to more information.
This week I like the look of Mineko's Night Market, Betomis, Sentry City, Freak Crossing, Pizza Possum, and Cocoon to name but a few.
Let's get to the full list:
🗓 Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games:
Monday, September 25
- RoboDunk — This is a kinda neat looking roguelite NBA Jam-like basketball game, featuring robots.
Tuesday, September 26
- Autumn Hike — Yes, it's autumn now here, so here's the walking sim to match.
- Mineko's Night Market — This narrative-driven, social simulation adventure celebrates Japanese culture. It's likely been on a few watchlists for a while.
- Paleo Pines — A cozy 3D farming sim, with dinosaurs. I assume this one doesn't go all Jurassic Park.
Wednesday, September 27
- Betomis — A retro 2D action single-screen platformer.
- CounterAttack: Uprising — A co-op SHMUP with eight player online.
- Faerie Afterlight — A 2D Metroidvania inspired by Indonesian philosophy and folk art.
- 📦 Paw Patrol World — Cop dogs free-roaming 3D adventure. (Physical release.)
- Sentry City — A budget-friendly cyberpunk-style 2D side-scroller. I dig the visuals.
- Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Bush Rescue Returns — Aussie outback 2D side-scrolling adventure.
Thursday, September 28
- Abomi Nation — a roguelike monster-taming RPG.
- Afterdream — A grungy side-scrolling 2D adventure about a lucid dream that you navigate through with a camera
- Angel Whisper — Visual novel.
- 🎮 Before the Night — Animals own humans in this 2D adventure.
- Boaty Tanks — 3D arcade arena boat combat.
- Chipmonk — A retro-inspired beat 'em up starring chipmunks.
- Crowns and Pawns: Kingdom of Deceit — A European point and click mystery adventure.
- CyberTD — Tower defence, but make it cyber.
- 📦 Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission — A deep-sea 3D edutainment adventure. (Physical release.)
- Encore Rally — Another Vampire Survivors-like, this time with music-loving aliens.
- 📦 Firefighting Simulator: The Squad — Tackle fires across a large US city. Has online and local multiplayer. (Physical release.)
- Forgive Me Father — A pretty gnarly looking Lovecraftian FPS. M for mature.
- Freak Crossing — A dark cartoony comedy RPG about a lawless village. It's like the answer to the question: what happens if you abandon your AC:NH island and things turn bad — which is an amusing idea if nothing else. M for mature.
- Games Advent Calendar: 25 Days - 25 Surprises — Yes, and advent calendar for Christmas, releasing in September.
- Gothic Classic — The original fantasy-themed action RPG comes to Switch.
- Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai — Action RPG based on the first 41 episodes of the anime series.
- Kumakichi's Birth: Destruction God — An action game about breaking things. It's a buck.
- Mechs V Kaijus — A 'hardcore' combo of tower defense and shooter.
- 📦 Mon-Yu — Role-playing game. The actual title of this is too long to put here. (Physical release.)
- My Heart Grows Fonder — Romance visual novel. M for mature.
- Pizza Possum — This looks like dumb fun. Hide, wreak havoc, get pizza. Has local co-op.
- Retro Kart Rush — A rather basic looking kart racer.
- Tiny Whaley — A 2D puzzle game about managing a 'magical and unusual' whale.
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong — The page for this RPG has been pulled from the US Nintendo site at time of writing. Unsure if the launch date may change. M for mature.
Friday, September 29
- Ancient Mahjong — Fairly straightforward this one.
- Cocoon — Adventure game from the lead designer of Limbo and Inside. If Annapurna are publishing, it must be worth a look.
- Deflector — A futuristic hack and slash game about a virus.
- Digitris — A falling block puzzler with a math component.
- 📦 EA Sports FC 24 — For the past few years I've given a strong reccomendation to avoid FIFA on Switch, but this year, with this non-FIFA branded reboot, it seems EA may be making an effort with the Switch version. I'd still wait for reviews though. (Physical release.)
- 📦 Fate/Samurai Remnant — Edo-period action RPG from Koei Tecmo. (Physical release.)
- Humans vs Tigers — A basic obstacle course game.
- Indoor Kickball — A 3D 1v1 game of kickball, but its played in the living room, kitchen, bedroom, etc.
- Love Kuesuto — An interactive 'love and relationship quiz' with four board games. M for mature.
- Ninja Kidz: Time Masters — A 3D action beat 'em up.
- Supfly Delivery Simulator — 2D drone delivery with a two-player mode.
Saturday, September 30
- 4x4 Mud: Offroad — Big car challenges.
All of the dates listed above are EU and US unless noted. A 🎮 controller emoji means a demo is available, and a 📦 box emoji means a physical release is also available.
