Valve improve Steam Deck production yet again

Steam Deck production continues at an accelerated pace, with many now seeing updated delivery times.

Valve have given a fresh update on Steam Deck manufacturing, tweeting that the company are beating their own production estimates for the handheld PC "yet again".

So, what does this mean? Well, essentially, those already with a Steam Deck reservation will now be getting their hardware sooner. Those of us still thinking about placing an order will now be able to get in the queue and get one quicker than previously anticipated too.

In a tweet shared over at the @OnDeck account, Valve clarified that all those who had a Q3 reservation (that's July-September) have now been sent an invite to order.

This accelerated pace of production also means that the company "are getting a head start on Q4" reservations too. Now, all new orders are given a September through December delivery window.

Only last month, we shared the news that Valve had improved Steam Deck production rates — so to see that yield improve again is a positive sign.

It's speculation from us, but maybe Valve will soon be in a position to move away from this reservation system and switch over to just having open sales?
