🔗 Sony drop PSN account requirement on PC, but offer perks if you use one

No need to login, but freebies if you do.

PlayStation today announced changes to how things work on PSN, with a key change for PC players coming into effect starting tomorrow.

As of January 30, coinciding with the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC, players will no longer need a PSN account to play. Prior to this date, those looking to play PlayStation games on PC would typically have needed a login in order to play — that requirement is now going away.

The need for a PSN account on PC wasn't always a popular one, with players not shy on making their opinion known on the practice.

However, Sony are offering new in-game content as an incentive to those who do use a PSN account. So, if you wanna play on PC, earn trophies, and get in game bonuses — such as exclusive outfits for Spider-Man, or neat armour in God Of War Ragnarok, then you'll wanna use a PSN account. But hey, it's nice to have the option not too.
