$3600 for a keyboard is too much, even for me.

I'm a sucker for mechanical keyboards. I'm currently typing this on a Mode Envoy with GMK Firefly II keycaps, which – since I've built it – is probably my end-game keeb.

That was until I discovered The Seneca, which might just be the most overkill keyboard on the market. It's a hand-built keyboard, made out of 682 custom parts. Every component is custom-machined, from the screws to the switch system, and the entire thing is assembled by a single person, start to finish.

The switches are based on a capacitive system inspired by vintage Japanese industrial keyboards, rebuilt from scratch for modern acoustics and feel. The result is a deep, "raindrop-like" (that's them saying that, not me) thock sound.

It’s absurd. It’s beautiful. It’s over-engineered in the best way possible. It's totally overkill. And it starts(?!) at $3600.
