What’s inside the upcoming retro-inspired handheld.
Retroid has officially revealed the full specifications for its upcoming Retroid Pocket Classic, a compact handheld that brings together a Game Boy-inspired design with modern emulation power.
The device has been teased before today, but now we have a solid breakdown of just what’s under the hood.
At its core, the Retroid Pocket Classic runs on the Unisoc T820 processor, a chip previously seen in the Retroid Pocket 4 and 4 Pro. It’s a 6-core CPU that’s paired with a Mali-G57 GPU, meaning it should provide solid performance for emulating things like PlayStation 2 GameCube titles.
The 3.5-inch IPS display sticks to a 4:3 aspect ratio, ideal for classic games, and it’s a touchscreen for easy navigation around the OS. The device also features 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD.
