We finally know what chip will be in the Retroid Pocket 5 and Retroid Mini. And the Retroid Pocket 5 will officially support Linux, too.
Update: Well, looks like I've published my post a bit too early because a few hours after release Retroid announced that the Retroid Pocket 5 will officially support Linux Gaming.
Retroid has shared more info regarding their upcoming Retroid Pocket 5 and the Retroid Mini, and we now finally know what chip both devices will use.
The list is as follows for the Retroid Pocket Mini:
- 3.7″ AMOLED Display 4:3 (1280 x 960)
- Snapdragon 865 SOC
- 4000MAH Battery
- Hall-effect Joysticks
- Weight: 215g
And for the Retroid Pocket 5:
- 5.5″ AMOLED Display 16:9 (1920 x 1080)
- Snapdragon 865 SOC
- 5000MAH Battery
- Weight: 280g
So far, these look like decent stats, even though we're still missing some info like included memory, storage and, of course, pricing.
I expect around $250 for the Pocket 5 and $200 for the Mini, but if the devices are cheaper, picking one up is a no-brainer in my eyes.
