A major milestone for the hybrid console.
The Nintendo Switch has now sold over 150 million consoles.
This fresh sales figure, which includes consoles sold up to the end of 2024, was shared as part of Nintendo's latest quarterly investor update.
The milestone sales numbers now puts the Switch only a few million units away from beating Nintendo's all-time best selling hardware the Nintendo DS. The DS stands at a total of 154 million units.
However, if Nintendo want to take the crown of best selling hardware ever, from across the entire industry, they'll have to sell another roughly 10 million more Switch consoles to take the top spot from Sony and the PlayStation 2. The PS2 is said to have sold 160 million units.
With the Nintendo Switch 2 looming it remains to be seen if Nintendo can shift another 10 million of the original console, but the DS record sure looks to be within reaching distance.
