A bundle including the newly announced Mario Kart World will also be available for $499.99.
Nintendo Switch 2 Games
The initial reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 did give us a peek at Mario Kart, but we now know so much more. Yes, Mario Kart, now Mario Kart World is a launch title, but it will be joined by lots of other titles, including Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, Fortnite, and Civilization VII. Other titles confirmed for the launch window include:
- Street Fighter 6
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Split Fiction
- Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour
- ...and others
Beyond the launch day titles, a slew of new games have also been revealed, including a new Donkey Kong title, a new Kirby Air Riders game from Sakurai, and even a new title via FromSoftware dubbed 'The Duskbloods'.
GameCube games are also being added to NSO at launch, with Zelda: The Wind Waker and F-Zero GX arriving on day one. GameCube titles will bot be available for NSO subs on the original Switch.
Nintendo Switch 2 games are looking likely to cost more too, with Mario Kart World set to carry an $80 price tag for a physical copy. The digital version will be slightly cheaper.
Nintendo Switch 2 Accessories
As you might expect, with a new console comes a slew of new accessories, including an all new Pro Controller. This new version of the Pro Controller features new back buttons, and a C button to access social features. This new Pro Controller will cost $80.
Additionally Nintendo also revealed a new camera accessory to use in certain games. This will retail for $60.
Also, to play those GameCube NSO titles, Nintendo will sell a Switch GameCube controller for $65.
You'll also need to pick up a new SD card for your Switch 2, as standard MicroSD cards won't work on the upcoming hybrid, instead you'll need Micro SD Express cards. These are faster cards with higher transfer speeds. A Nintendo-branded 256GB capacity card will be available for $55.
Beyond Nintendo, Genki and dbrand have stuff on the way, and we will likely have more from third-parties really soon.
Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are expected to start next week in certain regions on April 8.
Exciting stuff! After eight years with the Switch, Nintendo is ready for what's next. Will you be picking one up at launch?
