Nintendo today shared a 'first-look' trailer offering up a brief overview of their next machine, now officially known as the Nintendo Switch 2.
In the two-minute reveal, we see an original Nintendo Switch transform into the new follow-up handheld — which as leaks suggested, will sport a bigger screen, improved Joy-Con controllers, and a redesigned kickstand.
No actual hardware specifications were shared, and beyond a brief glimpse at what appears to be a new Mario Kart title, no other software was shown during the video.
The trailer (found above) ends by not only confirming that the Switch 2 device is fully backwards compatible with both physical and digital Switch 1 games, but also by sharing a date of when we can learn more — a Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is planned for early April.
