Oops. Nintendo's next machine is in the wild, as some seem to have snagged the machine over a week before launch.
A short video shared on YouTube earlier today appears to show someone opening up a retail Nintendo Switch 2 box, showing the new handheld and Joy-Con 2 controllers within.
The Switch 2 is not due to launch until late next week however — so this quick video would suggest either a store has broken the June 5 street date, or someone has some... connections.
This seven second YouTube Shorts clip was posted by user a2dubai, suggesting that this early Switch 2 was acquired in Dubai.
As you might expect the comments section under the video is filled with folks asking to see more, but user a2dubai noted that the system can't yet be used due to a required launch day system update. So until that arrives, the Switch 2 is something of an expensive paperweight.
We've seen several images pop-up this past week of retail Switch 2 units arriving at various stores, but now reports of those devices ending up in consumers hands are starting to emerge. One other such example is an individual who spoke privately t with Wario64, confirming that the Switch 2 does in fact prompt the user to "connect to the internet and update your system".
We're days away folks.
