Steam Controller 2 anyone? Leak suggests a return to a dedicated controller from Valve.

Steam Controller 2 anyone? Leak suggests a return to a dedicated controller from Valve.

There's been plenty of clamouring from Steam users for Valve to revisit making a dedicated controller. Their first effort, the Steam Controller — was discontinued some four years ago back in 2019.

However, the company could now be looking to go back to the idea — if a recent leak is to be believed.

Brad Lynch, a keen follower of all things Valve and Steam, shared an update on X (Twitter) detailing that a new controller is currently "being tooled" for mass production, and goes on to note that this Steam Controller 2 goes by the codename 'Ibex' — which is a wild mountain goat, maybe this controller will be the goat?

In addition to teasing a new Steam Controller, Lynch also suggests new VR controllers could also be on the way.

No confirmation from Valve on any of this yet of course, so the typical grain of salt caution applies here. Would you be down to give another controller from Valve a try?
