Nintendo have added an updated video to their Switch 2 website that briefly shows just how the new magnetic Joy-Con are detached from the upcoming hybrid console.

We've clipped the moment in question (which you can see below):

It demonstrates how, with the Switch 2, you'l have to press this new button found on the rear of the Joy-Con to essentially push the controller away from the console. This button appears to engage a small pin which pushes, and in-turn stops, the magnetic connection — releasing the controller, and allowing the Joy-Con to be removed from the main body.

This magnetic system found in the Nintendo Switch 2 replaces the connection rail that was used in the original Switch.


More details on Nintendo's next console are due to arrive later this year during a Nintendo Direct set for early April.
