🔗 Hall-Effect Joy-Con for Switch 2? Sure looks that way.

A leaker with a solid track record on the Switch 2 controller tech.

Whilst it was nice to have the Nintendo Switch 2 officially revealed directly from Nintendo, for those of us paying attention it didn't really tell us much we didn't already know.

The details of this follow-up hybrid have been slowly coming to the surface over the past couple of months, and one of the key figures in sharing that leaked information was the mysterious 'NextHandheld'. Prior to the official unveiling they shared images of the device, details on the hardware, and even information on what the logo for the upcoming handheld will look like.

All of it was true, suggesting that NextHandheld is indeed very well-sourced.

So, one other thing they predicted? As spotted by The Gamer: Hall-Effect Joy-Con.

How hall-effect controllers work — it’s pretty much down to magnets baby.

Nintendo hasn't confirmed whether a change in controller technology is a lock for the next Switch yet, but if NextHandheld's track record is anything to go by, it's sure looking that way. Be gone Joy-Con drift!
