Fancy tech wall art at a discount.
Grid Studio, the folks behind those lovely, framed tech teardowns of popular gadgets and gaming goods, are currently celebrating their fourth anniversary by way of a sale on some of their popular frames.
This anniversary event runs from today (Friday, September 6), through Thursday, September 12.
The highlight for me has to be the GRID Game Boy, which I own — it's a lovely homage to the original DMG device from 1989. The framed version of this classic handheld is $179 USD during the sale, down from $299.
In addition to the discounted Game Boy, a framed iPhone 4S is just $99 right now, reduced from $169 — a neat option for any Apple fan in your life perhaps. Finally, for those diehard OG iPhone owners, the original phone (released back in 2007) is also on offer. Grid are selling a limited batch of 40 of these first generation devices for $299 — a pricier option sure, but I imagine these phones are now harder to come by.
Beyond all of that, you can also use the code GRID4
to get 20% off other collections across the site. They have a range of rad, framed teardown tech including handhelds such as the GBA, Game Gear, PSP, Nintendo DS, and more. Yeah, I may have one of these already hanging on my office wall, but I really do think they make for a nice gift for the tech obsessed person in your life, and I guess this framing approach cuts down on e-waste too. Now, I'm just waiting for them to make a Steam Deck frame.
