🔗 The Framework Desktop is a compact mini-PC, that packs a punch
I want this for my living room setup.
Framework is expanding beyond laptops with the Framework Desktop, a compact modular PC built around AMD’s Strix Halo processors.
Three models will be available with the following specs.
- $1099: Ryzen AI Max 385 (8C/16T + 32-core GPU), 32GB RAM
- $1599: Ryzen AI Max 395+ (16C/32T + 40-core GPU), 64GB RAM
- $1999: Ryzen AI Max 395+, 128GB RAM
Pre-orders are open, but the first batch is already sold out, with the next one shipping in Q3 of this year.

As for the other specs:
Specs:
- Graphics: Radeon 8060S (up to 40-core GPU)
- Memory: Up to 128GB LPDDR5x-8000 (soldered)
- Storage: 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots (up to 16TB total)
- Ports: USB4, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, 5Gb LAN
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7
- Cooling: 120mm fans (Noctua or Cooler Master options)
- Power: 400W FlexATX PSU, 80 Plus Gold/Silver
One caveat: memory is soldered (thanks to LPDDR5X), so you’ll need to pick the right config upfront. But at least, their CEO in the latest LTT video assured he won't rip off customers on RAM prices (unlike some company with a fruit-shaped logo).
You can preorder the Framework Desktop here. I’m doing my best not to throw my wallet at the screen.
