Epic Games is hosting a big holiday Epic Store sale, including free games, starting with Destiny 2.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. That's because it's cold again; we all know summer is the worst. (Editor's Note: Jason is wrong!)
It's also because the Epic Games Store is doing another big old giveaway of games. If you head to the store before December 20th, you can grab Destiny 2: Legacy Collection for free, which has the entire base game along with The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and Shadowkeep add ons — but other free games are on the way.
Most of the details are in the Epic Games blog, but in previous years, the way that this has worked is that there's a new free game every day with 24 hours to claim it. So, we'd recommend setting a reminder on your phone, Trello, or Asana, or however you organise your life.
You could also just remember to do it, but that doesn't work for all of us. We're not sure what games will be given away next, but starting with a bundle of Destiny 2 is pretty impressive.
This is all part of Epic's Holiday Sale, which includes some seriously impressive discounts and other cool perks. For starters, you'll get a 33% discount coupon whenever you spend more than $14.99 in the store, and you'll also get a boost to the Epic Rewards cashback thing, which will bring it up to 10% earned on all of your purchases, which is nice if you don't mind sticking to the Epic Games Store for your PC titles.
Along with that, there are some freebies for some free-to-play games, including heavy-hitters like Warframe, where you can get some boosters and a cool weapon, and Honkai Impact 3rd.
It's just a lot of stuff for basically minimal effort. Even if all you do is collect the free games, you'll be up on money because those games typically cost money.
