A quality-of-life update with some fresh emulator additions, especially for Windows users.
EmuDeck 2.4 just dropped, and while it’s not a massive overhaul, it brings a bunch of quality-of-life tweaks and new features that make your setup even smoother.
Let’s break it down:
With the new integration selection, you can decide during setup, if you want all your ROMs to live inside EmulationStation-DE (Low Integration), or if you prefer adding every single ROM as a new entry thanks to Steam Rom Manager (Highest Integration).
If you pick the low integration, EmuDeck can now add EmulationStation-DE directly to Steam without the need to first open up Steam Rom Manager.
A bunch of new emulators
EmuDeck 2.4 also brings support for new emulators. For one, you can now "Bring-Your-Own" Citron, meaning that if you download the emulator and add it the proper folder, EmuDeck will automatically install and set it up for you.
EmuDeck now also supports the recently launched Azahar emulator for Nintendo 3DS. And if you are on Windows, you'll now get support for Supermodel, Model2 and BigPEmu.
And as for smaller updates: EmuDeck now has an improved BIOS checker, a new help manual, better dynamic parsers for Steam Rom Manager, and EmuDeck now lives in a new location on device to declutter your user folder.
Oh, but wait, there's one more thing. If you look at the video above, you'll see the EmuDeck dev is working on a new library manager, which will come in a future update. I've been giving it a spin, and I think it'll become my new way to launch my ROMs.
