Today, we look at SteamOS landing on more handhelds, Xbox blaming Apple, and Fortnite's comeback.
Hi, hello, welcome to a new edition of the overkill Digest newsletter, the finest overkill Digest newsletter in the existence of overkill Digest newsletters. (Yes, I'm over-caffeinated.)
I'm currently figuring out how to transform the AYANEO AM02, which I have connected to my TV, into a home server. I am not using it as a console anymore, since I have my main Gaming PC connected straight to the TV, thanks to a very long fiber HDMI cable.
The main use case will probably be to transform it into a NAS and start offloading some of the files I currently keep locally on my Mac and SSDs. And then... well, I don't know. I don't need a machine for media files, and I don't have any particular smart tech at home, so no need for homebridge either. Therefore, my question to you: if you have a home server, what do you use it for? Send suggestions my way.
And with that being said, to this week's news!
🚀 Big Moves
- SteamOS 3.7 is out and brings official SteamOS support to other handhelds. Finally!!! This version officially supports the Lenovo Legion Go S, and adds first support for the ROG Ally and the original Legion Go. We're getting close to the Year of Linux on the "desktop".
- Xbox games are coming to Nintendo Switch 2, too. To be fair, this rumor is a bit obvious. Microsoft has already brought Grounded to the OG Switch, so it's only a matter of when and not if Microsoft is porting Xbox games to the Switch 2. Halo on a non-Microsoft platform will be one weird experience.
