dbrand's Case Hardened skin is inspired by 1 Million Dollar Counter-Strike weapons skins, including the chance to get a super-rare Blue Gems skin.

dbrand is back to their shenanigans and has announced a new set of skins inspired by Counter-Strike. Yes, that Counter-Strike.

Hopping on the hype generated by super-rare Counter-Strike weapon-skins, where one recently sold for nearly a million USD, dbrand is releasing a set in similar colours, also called Case Hardened.

They explain:

Much like Counter-Strike gun skins, each Case Hardened skin you buy will feature a unique pattern. That includes ultra-rare “Blue Gems” - patterns that are almost entirely blue. Rather than spending your life savings gambling for a digital weapon skin, we have a slightly more palatable offer: buy a real-life Case Hardened skin and you’ll have a 3.2% chance of getting a Blue Gem. It’s the closest you’ll ever get to winning the lottery.

You can get these skins for all the devices dbrand usually supports and prices start around $29.99 depending on the device.

Now, maybe you don't want to try and get lucky, so dbrand got you covered. For a markup of 10 times the original price of the skin, you can directly buy one of these Blue Gems skins. Update: dbrand decided to change this "pay-to-win" mechanic. You can't buy the Blue Gem Skins directly anymore.

Now, is that price worth it? That's for you to decide. I, for my part, don't really understand who'd pay that much money for a skin, be it physical or digital. Then again, I collect rare Magic cards, so who am I to judge?

You can find all the skins over on dbrand's website.
