A new team is working on a true successor for Citra.

A new 3DS emulator is currently in the works, that aims to fill the hole left by Citra.

With the demise of Yuzu, Citra was another emulator that disappeared due to collateral damage. But it didn't take long before multiple forks appeared. The two most popular were Lime3DS and Citra "PabloMK7 fork".

And it's the developers of these exact projects who are now working together to create what PabloMK7 calls "a new, more serious continuation project."

This project, however, has only started development recently, so it sounds like it'll take a while before we see a working Nintendo 3DS emulator. But it's great to see both developers collaborate since the respective forks had features that the other one lacked.

I'll be keeping my eyes on the development.
