We saw many big releases land on Steam during March, including the likes of Resident Evil 4 and the less than perfect The Last of Us Part I port. But, its now time to turn our attention forward to the month ahead and see what games are coming to Steam in April, 2023.
As ever, we've taken a look over the busy Steam release calendar for April, and picked out some highlights that you'll want to know about and circle in your calendar โ such as the new Star Wars Jedi game and the LIVE A LIVE HD-2D remake.

Ever since that amusing moment back at E2 2006 the yearning for crabs in videogames has only but risen, right? Well, thankfully that need for crustacean gameplay is completely satiated with Crab Champions โย a new fast-paced multiplayer arena shooter meets roguelike that's set on an island and features a whole lotta crabs, quirky humour, and seemingly frantic gameplay.
The developers noted on Twitter that it "works great on Steam Deck" too, if you fancied a bit of crab battling down the beach.

A fast-paced 2D action roguelite with combat that's inspired by platform fighting games like Smash.
Meet Your Maker

A 3D post-apocalyptic first-person building-and-raiding game, all about creating your own outposts and breaking into others. Looks to be a neat multiplayer experience.
Passpartout 2: The Lost Artist

If you have fond memories of the charming, often forgotten, but far from perfect, 2005 PC business sim 'The Movies' then Moviehouse will be well worth a look. It's a simulation strategy game all about running your very own film studio and finding box office success.

EA's take on the golfing sim follows 2K's efforts from last October. This lovely looking sports game sees you hit up the links at the Majors. This was originaly set to release last month, but was pushed to this April 6th date to coincide with the Masters Tournament.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened

A dark and moody 3D puzzle adventure game that's described as a "nerve-racking Lovecraftian" experience. You'll become Sherlock Holmes, finding yourself at the heart of the terrifying Cthulhu Mythos as you investigate a series of mysterious disappearances. Demo available.

TRON: Identity

An all-new sci-fi visual novel adventure hybrid set in the neon-rich TRON universe. It's a detective game at its heart with a mystery for you to solve.
To give you an idea of what to expect, it's from the same team that made the celebrated Thomas Was Alone. The game is also coming to Switch, so will likely work fine on Steam Deck.
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Sure is a lot of Mega Man here. You can snag both Volume 1 and 2 in a bundle (that's ten games total), or grab them as seperate releases.

Tray Racers

This is a cute, colourful looking arcade party racing (where you surf down sand dunes) from the indie team behind PHOGS! It has plenty of customisation, online PvP modes, and a generally fun vibe. Oh, and it's also free to play.
The developers confirmed to us on Twitter that the game will work on Steam Deck.

A new action strategy game set in the Minecraft universe. Looks like it might be a blast to jump online with some pals to play this to team up and take down some enemy settlements.

Disney Speedstorm

A high-speed racer from the team behind the Asphalt games featuring a slew of Disney and Pixar characters โ such as Buzz Lightyear, Donald Duck, Elsa, and Mickey Mouse. As you'd expect there's a multiplayer mode with online play, along with a story mode too.
There's a few different editions, but the game starts at around $30.

Survival: Fountain of Youth

This 3D open-world game hits Early Access in April โย it sees you shipwrecked on a Carribean island and needing to survive. It's set in the 16th-century, and you'll have to craft your own tools and shelter, hunt prey, and fight off predators.

You can "explore the early days of civilization" in this 2D Stone Age farming sim. Stardew Valley fans will likely want to take a look. Oh, and it has co-op too.

Bramble: The Mountain King

A "beautiful yet dangerous" horror adventure set in a world inspired by dark, Nordic fables. It promises a "gripping and unsettling journey" with heavy subject matter โย there's a demo available if you'd like to give it a go.
Henry Stockdale, writing for IGN, came away impressed by its memorable moments.

A Lovecraft-themed atmospheric noir Metroidvania where you explore for the memories of deceased victims, search for clues, and fight demons. Looks rather nice, with fluid animations.

After launching on the Nintendo Switch last year this HD-2D remake of 1994 SNES Square Enix game LIVE A LIVE is now coming to Steam. It's an RPG that gives players the choice to explore eight different stories with eight varied characters, all set in different time periods. There's a demo up on Steam now, and 20% off for those who pre-order.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Survivor is the follow-up to 2019's award-winning Fallen Order, picking things up with protagonist Cal for another galaxy-spanning action adventure from Respawn Entertainment. We loved the first entry, calling it one of the best Metroidvania games (really) that you can play on Steam Deck. As such, we've got high hopes for the far far away follow up.
