That's more than the entire population of Australia.
Data from SteamDB has revealed that Valve's Steam service reached a new, all-time high user count over the weekend, with over 38 million players sitting down, at the same time, to play something.
This new record (of 38,367,277 if you want to be precise) was made up of folks playing the likes of Counter-Strike 2, PUBG, Dota 2, and Black Myth: Wukong to name just a few. Of course, even GTA V was in the mix.
To put into context just how many people that is playing videogames at the exact same time — it's more than the entire population of countries such as Poland, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Australia, and countless others.
As noted by GamingOnLinux, this marks the fifth time in the past few years that Steam has broken concurrent user records — highlighting the increased growth of the Steam platform overall.
